the Revenge of the Mouse King
The second in what is yet be a trilogy about the wooden mouse
king that invaded rob's dreams and his mother's kitchen. A surprisingly
dark song for its wind-up toy main character.
About the Song
"I used to have nightmares about mice - they seemed to
occur in stop-motion animation. The first song, 'Asparagus' recounts
the Mouse King's invasion of the kitchen and my respect for his
never-ending cycle of battle and capture. This second song has
more to do with the fact that I'll stand at my self-destructing
Mouse King's side no matter what the damage done."

Bid on Revenge of the Mouse King.
Lyrics
Knife in teeth and creeping
Little Stuart-esque
Gets his cog key caught in the barbed-wire of his nest
The Wooden Mouse King never falters
His advance remains unchecked
With the better man unfettered Asparagus takes revenge
The kitchen lies in darkness
Dust bunnies swept away in fear
In the dungeons of Amana
You'll find the King is here
He may pick his locks most every night
But his friends though caged with whiskers low
He plans to go and set things right
Clock spring wound tight
There is murder in his mind
The wooden mouse king hunts with sharpened claws and tooth and
knife
The wheel skip ped but he's still turning
He has a plan
He has the mouse-power whittled down to you and I against the
world again
I said I'd back you all the way I said I'd soak up all the shells
I said I'd mend your wounds and follow you to Hell
But here I am I stand alone, here I am amongst the dead
I find I'm out on the front again
I find I'm out on the front again, oh my friend
Something proud and peerless about the strong and fearless
Out in the middle of all harm's way
The battle shakes with legs astompin
The mouse king stands
And invites death down upon him
With all my fear you took the danger on again my dear
And you know I cannot soak the shells from here
So with tears held in check and shoulders thrown straight back
The goal is here I have no fear
And I've arrived now at the cages
Screams still ringing in my ears
The guards have all been scattered
They took friends and family
Mousehole and cheese
I see they've been raped and slaughtered still on their knees
I remember why we fight we always fought to fight
And all you ever need is winding and all I ever need is in your
eyes
And all of this and all of me
Never did this mean anything
Oh no not anything
Never did I mean anything
Oh my friend.
