Other note really quick - my computer bluescreened in the middle of the guy's performance, so on top of everything, I'm stressed about the crash, rebooting, getting the video stream back up and running... thank you to everyone at the open mic who made a point of telling me I'm awesome at the end of the night cause I sure didn't feel like it!!!

Now it's 3.30am and I've got to be conscious in 4 hours... maybe sleep will follow now that I've got this all written out?

I’m an exhausted puppy.  I’m really looking forward to the end of the week because we get

to play a more rocking kind of show.  I’ve been feeling tense after the Open Mic Incident and I’m afraid I’ll go through another night of sleeplessness – maybe I need to run off to some OTHER open mic for a night and rock the Hell out just to let off some steam.  It’s at moments like this that I intensely miss Tae Kwon Do.

On off nights I get to record Ash in my lair. At the moment we're working on a song for a Sudanese film that involves djembe and guitar and cello and french horn... and oregano. Above, Ash (and in the background, Orion) listen to playback in robLair Studios.

I’ve been reading through the Game of Thrones books by George RR Martin and comparing it to other books I’ve read about medieval environments.  Game of Thrones is thoroughly fantastic, with its exotic armour and high-born honour and constant sense of danger and pervasive violence – but from what I’ve read of the “real” medieval period , with its exotic armour, high-born armour and constant sense of danger and pervasive violence – it sounds like certain aspects of the way the books are written might be pretty accurate from a psychological point-of-view.
