Today we’re just driving to Elkhart, IN.  It’s an easy shot, less than three hours, but with nothing to do at the far end but to get into town and crash.  Might go see a movie, might go to a mall… might do anything, but chances are there just won’t be much TO do – it’s Sunday, we’re in the Midwest, and even west, Elkhart’s a small town chosen more for convenience and cheap hotels than for its inherent exciting properties.

We arrive in Tiffin...

Tiffin University makes a big deal out of us. It's flattering. There was stage construction and table construction and sound gear eruption... we got to say "yeah, replace that wedge" and they DID it!

The last couple of days we’ve been in hotels – motels, inns – whatever.  A hostel the night before that – I was truly expecting these days to feel luxurious, but none of us are sleeping.  The Tiffin Motel had an awesome Lego collection, but despite the presence of a

magnificent Lego Imperial Star Destroyer, sleep didn’t get under my skin till half way through the night.  Last night at the Findlay Inn I had all the pillows I could ever dream of having, and I nested accordingly, but I still didn’t get to sleep till four in the morning or so.

Poo!

There was even a pool table in our green room! Of course, our green room was the mail and games room and students kept wandering in, but it still felt a bit like star treatment! Heather wiped the table with me. Kristen, sensing ancient rivalries, knew better than to get involved.

Sigh – I guess we just need some floors or couches or something to get our spines in line with the rockstar Lifestyle.
