ilyAIMY (i love you And I Miss You)
In the Baltimore-based rock-folk group ilyAIMY (ill YAY' me) intelligent lyrics, spectacular guitar work and an intimate stage charisma all draw together in an unlikely mix. Pulling from influences as varied as Appalachian banjo, heavy metal, bluegrass and R&B, the Independent Weekly of Durham, NC calls them "A churning, percussive acoustic guitar attack" while On Tap Magazine declares ilyAIMY "A bone-rattling acoustic act... with driving lyrical force, then male/female harmonies that lock in, lift, drop and pull ... And then slow it down and rip you open." Whether ilyAIMY performs as a duo, trio or quartet they've drawn frequent comparisons to Buckingham/Nicks, a Nickel Creek on crack, Ani Difranco, Keller Williams and Rusted Root as well as an acoustic Tool, Metallica, Primus. After demonstrating an ability to enchant and entrance audiences in their home territories, Heather Lloyd and rob hinkal moved into their Saturn with biker boots and extra strings, laptops and paints in 2003. Their high-energy antics and soulful, heart-rending harmonies have captured listeners all across a wide and misshapen trapezoid from New Hampshire to Georgia to Texas to the Rockies and won numerous songwriting and performance awards.
