The end of December, no matter what you celebrate, always feels like a breather after a marathon race. The crazy build up, the chaos, the parking... whether or not you celebrate Christmas the season swirls around you causing pressure on the roads and the airwaves, and the entire world seems to vibrate - if not in sympathy - then at least in rhythm with the season.
And so now we take a week to breathe before New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, and the ever-evolving question mark of 2022. Kristen and I just made a whirlwind circuit of local Christmas lights and greatly appreciated the unique display in Ellicott City that has a dance floor and a light display synched to Experience Unlimited's "Da Butt".
Of such things are Holly Jolly Holiday Memories made.
Tonight's our last VOM of the year (#92 if you're keeping track!) and Wednesday's our last Live from the Lair of 2021 (#93) and we'll FINALLY get Chuck the Madd Ox back in the house. We ask that all of you squeeze your Loved ones a little extra as we head into yet another whirl around the sun. Stay safe. We Love you and we miss you. |

I write and rewrite and rerewrite so many paragraphs here. Do I want to be optimistic? Encouraging? Conversational? Do I give heartfelt, pleading medical advice?
(no, that's your doctor's job - not mine, not the internet's, not Facebook, ask the medical professional you've trusted on everything ELSE for years...)
In my heart I'm bitter and grumpy but playing my music wipes that all away. I'm looking forward to playing with Chuck on Wednesday, and Rowan and I are looking at slowly assembling the skeletons of recordings. We keep on keepin' on because collapsing into stasis isn't going to work for ANYONE. Even if we're "just" in our Lair, webcasting out to the void, we're never REALLY at rest. ilyAIMY just doesn't really know how to do that.
