The New Deal Cafe show was magnificent, and to a certain extent I'm still basking in it. I mean, I've been doing other stuff, but then I compare it to playing with the full band Saturday night and I think "by comparison, this chocolate cake isn't NEARLY as sweet!" (nor sweaty).
Tonight might come close though. A quartet show with Joey Jenkins on drums, Sharif and his mighty organ, and Heather and I theoretically in charge - sure we don't have an in-person audience when we're "just" webcasting, but there's a strange and beautiful intimacy to it that I've grown to adore. Christmas is almost upon us, the tree is up. I've visited the lights in Baltimore. Dinner is planned. I Love the time of year, but that doesn't mean YOU have to. But I hope that you'll be able to take time out with others if that's your jam, or for yourself if it's not. Appreciate if not the reason or the season, some pretty lights - because if nothing else, people are taking the time to make the world a brighter place. Spikier too. I Love them pines. Viciously coniferous.
