This weekend we return to the Lovely, warm-sounding wooden box that is the Wheaton American Legion. YOU are welcome there as well (though you've got to "sign in"!) - the show is free and open to the public.
But TONIGHT... tonight is the warm-sounding wooden box that is the LAIR. Tonight we’re dragging Jimmy Stewart and Christian Alfonso down the stairs, plugging them in, placing mics and cameras in front of them, and basking in their presence. (and playing along, of course!)
Quiet the Mountain is an exquisite combination of beautiful Manly Harmony and really elegant fingerstyle guitar. I watched these two performers hone themselves against the abrasive surfaces of my open mics, then find one another across crowded rooms, and then forge themselves into a mighty duo in the flames and fires of COVID.
AND THEY STAND BEAUTIFUL AND TALL except they sit to perform and actually Jimmy’s a really big guy and I’m not dragging them anywhere and actually if they didn’t want to come into the Lair I couldn’t drag them if my Life depended on it and we’ll be lucky if we can get them back OUT again.
