After the Lair tonight, we're playing a big festival in Fells Point on Friday, and then shows are going to get sparse for a bit. We're beginning the Winter's Hunker a little early, prepping for recordings and a couple of very, very special shows. Winter is coming. And so is ilyAYREheart.

Music can make or break you. And I don't just mean the part about how one day you're playing to a couple of thousand rapt faces at a festival in New York and then the next night you're playing to the backs of a couple of people's heads in a tiny bar. I mean - you can ride it up to a summit of joy, feel the sun on your face and wriggle a bit to the rhythm for a song and then the next can shatter you, leave your heart bleeding on the floor, remembering and reliving and weeping.

And it's these beautiful extremes that make us human.
