I make a point of not getting political in these upDates. We can have conversations and you can listen to our lyrics and though I preach, I really preach about your own morality and recognizance. Thinking before you act. Thinking before you speak.
Thinking before you vote.
We have a justice system that is by no means perfect, but by averages seems to work assuming no-one involved is too rich or too Black, and even then it tends to try. We move upward and onward in fits and starts, and though I don't expect much to truly come of this conviction, if your reflex is to say the trial was a sham, or that the conviction is false in some way, I urge you to look at a broader spectrum of news.
And honestly, if you went into this week thinking there was no way anyone would possibly NOT convict (I'm actually shocked this came back with a conviction) - well, I'd urge YOU to get out of your bubble too because almost half the nation doesn't agree with you.
And then think.
And then make your plans for voting this year. Cause it matters. I'm about to go visit a bunch of other countries and I'd LIKE to think I'll be excited and PROUD to be coming home. |
