I am NOT a summer rob. I like to hunker. But we've been hunkering for a year and a half and so I'm tentatively sniffing the air, placing one wee rob-paw into the surrounding environment, and we're leaping into the fray.
This weekend, playing two gorgeous environments - next month - playing tons of them... I'm just amazed at how some of the venues and businesses have adapted to the New World. I'm glad they've KEPT some of their innovations.
I'm sure that our venue tomorrow, American Ice Co. Cafe, was worried about losing parking when they plopped a shed in their parking lot to provide a stage, but it's rustic and charming and the lights are just SO and the photo alone makes you WANT to be there. We went to their open mic this week to check it out... and now we'd like to invite YOU.
Next month, the Bethesda Streetery concept, shows at the Takoma Gazebo, even the revamped Concerts in the Courtyard in Ellicott City that we've been playing for years - have all found new joy in the repudiation of lockdown, finding a way we can be together in the most difficult of times.
Hoping to see you soon - and if you're comfortable with it - giving you a big hug.
