Heather's birthday show at the New Deal Cafe was a wondrous night. I'm going to give you a link to that. But don't go there yet. Keep reading. Stick with me just a sec here. Even though I'm going to veer off topic because I want to talk to you about my open mics for -
WAIT!
Though I know everyone in our ilyAUDIENCE looks good while walkin' away, don't go baby... don't go....
Maybe my Monday night VOMs and Tuesday night SPRING open mics aren't ilyAIMY shows, but you get a decided ilyFlavour just by dint of how I kinda... you know... rub off on things - and it's just a stunningly strange conglomeration of STUFF.
Tonight's VOM is a new song night guest-hosted by Rowan Corbett w co-host duties from Chris Ehrich (the Honest Mistakes, Local Failures) with performances from Canadians and locals and Kate Buckholdt and so much more!
And then the SPRING in Olney, MD - Tuesdays bring us stunning features from the fine Sandy Spring Museum... my feature this week is the exquisite jazzbeest Laura Baron, next week is Seth Kibel & Flo Anito, then Mark "Muleman" Massey, MLEMON and, one of the finest voices on the east coast, Juels Bland.
Okay.
Now - back to ilyAIMY and wonderful shows that are in the past but not vanished : If you missed it (or if you just want to relive it) the webcast from Heather's birthday show at the New Deal Cafe is here : https://youtu.be/2T3X_dZqJHw. And maybe you missed our Murder Ballad show? We played some Pearl Jam and Guns N' Roses and some Violent Femmes and generally got educational to boot! Well that's here : https://youtu.be/kB-WkJckgiw
And of course - if you want to look to the future - we'll be Live from the Lair as a five-piece on Wednesday night and have shows coming at you, sparser on the ground, but all the more concentrated and intense because of it. |
