So...

...there's a hole. 

Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms, nor a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it's a rob Lair.

It is snug and warm and till the summer comes again, it's where I spend much of my time. We webcast from there, I run my Monday open mic. The cat stares at me till I feed him. The Lair. You've seen it.

Outside of the Lair, it's less than two weeks to our last show of the year. Indeed - our last show on the books for Maryland till October of 2022 not including my SPRING open mics. And you shouldn't. Include them that is. The SPRING's a different animal entirely (with multiple heads, ever-shifting and strange - this week one of them looks suspiciously like Juels Bland!).

ESPECIALLY nowadays with COVID restrictions and so many outdoor shows, it's probably not a bad idea to call a venue ahead of time to make sure there are no surprises. We try to keep everything up-to-date on ilyAIMY.com - but our social media it's probably more up-to-the-second! Facebook, Instagram and Twitter are where we'll probably manage to get cancelations, schedule and detail changes first - so make sure you follow, Like, finger us... whatever it is you do on those crazy thangs!

Saturday I think I found out my lower-temperature-limit for performance. We persevered and we played fairly-well (though we had to resort to a beatbox / a capella version of "Winter Wonderland" to give our hands some time in our pockets) but it's probably not an experience I'd care to repeat. I'll probably add a "46" to our contract. We don't perform when the "feels like" temperature's expected to be lower than 46. I WOULD say "45 and lower" but have developed an aversion to that number.

Saturday I think the "feels like" temp was actually 39, but... that was legit too cold. "Lower than 46" should be our number. 46-96? A 50 degree temperature range beyond which ilyAIMY cancels the show? I don't think that's too crazy. We've pushed our limits this past year and I think we've really found the edges of them.

Brr. I'm spending today in my Lair. Recovering!!!!

*By "HIBERNATE loudly" I of course mean "webcast". And don't worry. We won't literally "hibernate" at you. I mean, though I'm a noisy, tossy-turny sleeper filled with twitches and little yelps, the rest of the band's quite sedate and would be quite boring to watch. So Live from the Lair will just go on being music and banter, and no sleep cams or anything weird. Er. Nothing weirdER.
