Ha. This surprised ME too! Yes it's short notice, but we're gonna have a real good time. A happy birthday open mic for David Eisner at Takoma Spark (7112 Willow Ave., Takoma Park, MD 20912). Signup at 6pm, performances begin at 7pm hosted by me. 2 songs, 10 minutes, or 1 joke - whichever's shorter. A joint production with rob's Open Mics, School of Musical Traditions and Institute of Musical Traditions, this will be an ongoing series but we have NOT confirmed if it will be IMMEDIATELY continuing (every Tuesday). Consider this a soft-opening, and more importantly, a celebration of a guy who's been kind of at the centre of the acoustic, folk, strange and displaced music scene in Takoma Park, MD for DECADES.
Yes. We will sing "Happy Birthday" at some point.
No. It won't count towards your songs.
Yes. We'll be video-ing and recording.
No. No amps or drumkits.

This is a performance space at School of Musical Traditions so there is NO on-site food or drink, but there's plenty to nab in the local area. This is all coming together kind of swiftly, so bear with us as we figure it out! |
