ilyAIMY Dangerous Music for Dangerous Times

Today is a morose day. But it's sunshiney and beautiful. So I'm trying to get it together. I'll have it together for tomorrow's webcast. I'll have it together for Friday's show. And Saturday's show. And Monday's show. It's the in-betwixt times that are trickier.

Hey - good news though! All of our RSVP and Ticketed upcoming shows are sold out! Huzzah! However, there's a waiting list for Saturday's full band show in Woodstock, MD ( email Peter at pvanhouten1234@comcast.net ) AND some of the presenters for May 1st's Sidewalk Serenades in Baltimore and Timonium, MD are willing to have a couple of extra people attend these otherwise private shows ( email ME at rob@ilyaimy.com ).

If you’ve got some digital currency burning holes in your digital pockets, we’ve got physical merch at ilyaimy.square.site and digital merch at ilyaimy.bandcamp.com – and of course we’ll happily accept donations at paypal.me/ilyaimy and Venmo @ilytips. We even have an Amazon wishlist covering things we use regularly or could regularly use – whether you’re thinking “gosh, they deserve a new audio interface and / or action figures and some socks!”.

upComing and inComing:

Keeping ourselves sane, sort-of employed – and most importantly – keeping us from Loving and Missing YOU too much – ilyAIMY’s Live from the Lair marches into 2021. Join us every Wednesday night at 7pm ET on Facebook, YouTube and Twitch.

Ellicott City - 3731 Hamilton St

The Little Market Cafe (3731 Hamilton St Ellicott City, MD 21043) has a beautiful space for Live music, only made more beautiful by last year’s Attack of Gordon Ramsay JUST before COVID struck us all into stasis. We’re overjoyed to be returning once again and are so thankful to Jeni…

Woodstock - RSVP for address

This show is currently sold out though our host Pete is maintaining a waiting list. Email him about it at pvanhouten1234@comcast.net . We’re playing from 3-5pm but we plan to cross-pollinate (in a socially-distanced fashion) with our good friend Jimmy Stewart. From the host : Those of you who were…

So, technically these events are “sold out” however some of the participants have offered space on the lawn for a limited number of additional audience members during “their” show. Space still available in Baltimore or Timonium, MD. Please email me for information / RSVP. Sidewalk Serenades:  Close (But Not Too…

Wandering and Wondering:

During the spectacular taiko - ilyAIMY crossover this past Saturday I gave Mark H Rooney the following advice about banter : when you can't think of anything to say, or you think you can't get anything POSITIVE out of your mouth - activate a stream-of-consciousness mind-feed about chupacabras. "Goat suckin'" is JUST dirty enough to be mindlessly amusing. The Chupacabra has an element of horror and sci fi and checks off my usual nerd-cred. He (or she - or it) can be cute or terrifying and can be placed in a number of trite or tragic situations and yet can be saved by the sheer whimsy of his non-existence. The plural is even good for sound checks combining a unique sound that can be heard distinctly with a solid plosive and a sibilant ending.

Yes. When you've got nothing better to say, turn to the trusty Chupacabra and let fly. I told this to Mark H Rooney, though he may not have realized it. I think I was merely yelling "Chupacabra" at him at Saturday's show and he may not have realized that I was willing him to learn from example - and to do what I do, not what I say, though what I was doing was saying what I was doing by saying what I'd do.

What?

Chupacabra.
