A little bit more of the story here https://www.ilyaimy.com/wordpress/2012/11/12/november-12th-2012/ : but below it’s just alllll the photos. From Day 1.
Thank you so much Jenn Armstrong for helping us NERF! One of my favourite NEW finds of NERFA: Stephanie Halprin and Luke B – they’re both consumate musicians and friendly people here in Kerhonkson, NY from Colorado. Rebecca Loebe. She’s pretty fabulous. I have got a whole lot of anti-TV-star prejudices that come along with her having been on the Voice, but every time I’ve met her she’s been nothing but charming, talented – and absolutely genuine. And meeting her again at NERFA she seemed something both more and less than what I’d encountered before: absolutely exhausted. She spoke to me in a way that I don’t feel most singer/songwriters DO speak… in all a writers’ rush to express their opinion on their last relationship, or the world, or politics, or just to try and say something clever – we don’t REALLY talk about ourselves and our jobs too much. I felt like she really spoke to ME as a road-warrior. And it left me deeply, intensely affected. It was like her defenses were down and she was being terribly, achingly honest. Bethel Steele. Paddy Kilrain! o one of my favourite things about NERFA as a whole is of course meeting up with people – and my favourite way of that happening has less to do with the jams and more to do with the random frenetic clusters that would form. Whether it was gathering around Matt Nakoa playing piano, or getting introduced to Putnam Smith’s Lovely cellist, April… or just getting packed into an elevator with Neale and his big-ass camera, I Loved hanging OUT! Good times had around the piano at NERFA in Kerhonkson, NY Every single one of us vying for your attention at NERFA 2012
