Opening for Victoria Vox at the Brewer’s Alley Acoustic Showcase in Frederick, MD on September 11th, 2017. Had a great time despite the fact that I was really, really sloppy. I sold a good number of CDs and cookbooks and such-nots, plus got to meet back up with a bunch of people I’d not seen in far, far too long. Hoping I can come back soon.
The incredible Victoria Vox smiling to a standing ovation at Brewer’s Alley in Frederick, MD. Watching her work an audience is frankly intimidating.
Listening to the new porterdavis album… it’s like if that Ben Harper / Charlie Musselwhite album wasn’t just a one-off jam disc and was the result of players who’d been together half their Lives. (not Weissenbornally, but vocally, rhythmically and OH that harmonica). Damn I miss these guys.
Yeah. I wrote that on Facebook and tagged the parties involved. Foolishly. Got written to by Charlie Musselwhite to explain it’s not a one-off jam and that there’s another album like it coming out next year. Which excited me. And stressed me out a bit for whatever reason. Still. I stand by it. New album by porterdavis is amazing. The rob doth recommend.
As a matter of fact, Victoria rocked so hard at around 9.40pm in Frederick, MD, that I broke my watch! You know how it… recording during the great Cylon war…We’ve been dancing around this for months, but FINALLY Heather and I were able to sit down (virtually) for a podcast with Seth Horan. Not sure when it airs, or if we were NEARLY as funny as we thought, but it was just generally awesome to chat with him! ilyAIMY performing at Barley and Hops in Frederick, MD on Wednesday, September 13th, 2017.Kristen enjoying a good view of a good dog (at Barley and Hops on September 13th, 2017.)Sometimes the show is for the dogs.
