Day 18: Moose Safari & Algutsboda

God morgon, Lea!
Not moose
— at Glasrikets Älgpark.

Despite the moose crossing signs on the roads everywhere here, we haven’t seen a moose in the wild – just reindeer. Luckily, Sweden has moose parks! We went to one just a few minutes away from Ana. They take you out on a “safari” where you can see and feed the moose.

Then we visited Algutsboda, a lovely little enclave with a museum about the local history, a wooded area, and a place where you can get Swedish waffles and coffee.

The weather today was absolutely idyllic – sunny, cool and windy. I am drinking it in and absolutely dreading the return to home where being outside is miserable. It’s so wonderful to get this respite from Maryland summer. A trip to Sweden every summer isn’t feasible, but it makes me think we should make an effort to escape somewhere up north for a bit during the worst of the heat.
