
A unique environment of music and art, Sandy Spring Museum, in partnership with rob’s Open Mics and Institute of Musical Traditions presents open mic every Tuesday from 7pm – 9.30pm. 2 pieces or 10 minutes whichever’s SHORTER, adv. registration REQUIRED (info & COVID restrictions below), house keyboard available upon request, webcast LIVE on Facebook, YouTube and Twitch. The evening is FREE but we hope you’ll bring a little something to support the night’s featured artist.

COVID precautions mean that advance registration at sandyspringmuseum.org/programs-and-events/calendar/ is required – on nights we’re indoors only the 1st 25 registrants will be admitted (and we’re probably indoors till the SPRING) – and proof of COVID vaccination is required (vax card, photo thereof, or negative test within the past 48 hours). The performance list is generated night-of so please arrive by the start of the evening. Currently masks are required inside the museum except while eating, drinking or during your performance.
Tonight our featured artist is Valeria & Grey!
Valeria Stewart was part of the duo Luna with co-writer Kathleen Huber. She now performs with the trio Crooked Sparrow, and has just started a collaboration with The Grey A. She is originally from Argentina and has roots in the DC area. She was awarded a Finalist Prize this year for her song ‘Por Que’ by the Songwriting Association of Washington, and the song was also a weekly winner for the 2021 John Lennon Songwriting Award. Her first EP ‘The Alchemist’s Journey’, was released in 2020.
Grey Jacks is the lead for the band the Grey A and the music composer for the bands All Her Muses and Graduates Rise!. He has won songwriting awards from BMI as well as the Songwriters Association of Washington. the Grey A band have been touring and performing for 8+ years and released their first new single ‘Providence’ on bandcamp last September ’21 and will release their 2nd album D8 Ur Elders this June.
