Tonight’s featured artist is a long-time regular of rob’s Open Mics : David Potts-Dupre. The painful beauty of aging in America is laid out for everyone to see in the songwriting and imagery of David Potts-Dupre. Watching him grow as a performer and songwriter at my open mics over the past decade or more has been a pleasure, and the deftness with which he blankets an audience with empathy is something to be envied. David is a beloved figure in our local scene, and was joined by a number of instrumentalists and vocalists (including Kristen on cello and Steve Steckler, who recorded “Another Life”, on guitar) to flesh out his haunting, often intricate, compositions.
