Our last open mic of the year at the beautiful Sandy Spring Museum in Sandy Spring, MD! Come bask in a 360 degree environment of music and art from 7pm – 9.30pm. 2 pieces or 10 minutes whichever’s SHORTER, adv registration REQUIRED (info & COVID restrictions below), house keyboard available upon request, webcast LIVE on Facebook, YouTube and Twitch. The evening is FREE but we hope you’ll bring a little something to support the night’s featured artist, or even donate to the museum or our sponsor, Institute of Musical Traditions.
COVID precautions mean that advance registration at sandyspringmuseum.org/programs-and-events/calendar/ is required – on nights we’re indoors only the 1st 25 registrants will be admitted (and we’re probably indoors till the SPRING) – and proof of COVID vaccination is required (vax card, photo thereof, or negative test within the past 48 hours). The performance list is generated night-of so please show up at the beginning of the night. Currently masks are required inside the museum except while eating, drinking or during your performance.
You’re welcome to bring food or drink – there’s plenty of local restaurants that you can order from in advance, pick up and bring with, and we’ve got plenty of space to spread out.
Tonight our featured artist is PETRICHORD!
Based in the DC-area, Colleen Holroyd (fiddle, feet), Sophie Chang (cello), and Bobby LaRose (piano, mandolin, bones) have been playing together for contra dances and concerts for the last three years. Joining different strands of folk traditions, the trio creates a vibrant, rich experience for dancer and listener.
